At Bethlehem Center, we are devoted to strengthening and uplifting individuals and families in the Highland and Greater Spartanburg communities. Our mission is to create lasting opportunities for personal and community growth. Your support enables us to reach more people, expand our programs, and touch more lives.

Every dollar you contribute directly transforms lives. Here are just a few examples of the incredible journeys made possible by supporters like you:

A Legacy of Growth: The Jackson Family

In the 1970s, Victor Jackson found a safe and nurturing after-school home at Bethlehem Center, even playing quarterback on our football team. Carrying that legacy forward, Victor has sent his daughter Mariah to the Center since she was a little girl. Today, Mariah is excelling in our teen leadership program, and Victor is thrilled about the possibilities ahead for her, thanks to the skills and connections she's developed right here.

Blossoming FAMILIES: Sakeenah and Amirah's Story

Sakeenah’s daughter, Amirah, is a shining example of the growth we witness daily at our Highland Early Learning Center (HELC). Thanks to the nurturing environment and dedicated educators at HELC, Amirah has truly blossomed, earning awards for reading and her interpersonal skills. HELC has also empowered Sakeenah as a parent, providing guidance and resources to support Amirah's growth at home. Next year, Sakeenah plans to send her younger twins to HELC, and we can't wait to welcome them to the Bethlehem Center family.

Finding Connection: Gloria Crocker's Joy

Gloria sees The Bethlehem Center as an antidote to loneliness. She shared that it's easy to stay home and feel sad, but Bethlehem Center gives seniors like her somewhere to find community, fellowship, and joy. As an active member of our senior program, Gloria was one of many seniors who, last year crafted hundreds of handmade items, including warm hats and cozy blankets, which were then donated to those in need within our community.
